Pastor Jay Wilcher
Pastor Jay began his ministry at First Congregational Church on April 27, 2015. Having lived in eleven states due to school and work, he is happy to settle in Prescott. Jay is a minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Through our denominational agreements to share clergy, he has been granted standing in the Southwest Conference of The United Church of Christ in order to pastor our church. He holds Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He has served churches in New Jersey, Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, Colorado, and California. Jay has also been a vocational pastor, working as an investment representative for Prudential Financial, MWA Financial Services, and Farmers Insurance. He worked as a regional private banker for Wells Fargo Bank and as an executive banking manager for Vectra Bank Colorado. He found the business world just as messed up as the church! He enjoys golfing, fine wine, and travel. His better half, Cherie, works at West Yavapai Guidance Clinic as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. They share four children and four grandchildren. Family Standard Poodle Roscoe serves as assistant to the pastor.
